I was looking for something with a Blu-Ray player and surround sound that I could connect to my 50 inch RCA DLP TV in our newly remodeled basement family room. I didn't want to spend a lot of money since the kids are mainly the ones use this TV. My 13 year old son had the system out of the box and hooked up within 15 minutes. It did take us awhile, however, to figure out how to adjust the speaker levels. The instructions that come with the system aren't very helpful but the system itself isn't too complicated so we just started playing with it and eventually figured it out. The sound is about what you'd expect from a 300 watt system. It's not amazing but it's good, and for a family room used by teenagers it's exactly what I was hoping for- an inexpensive blu-ray home theater system that delivers a nice, crisp picture with a decent sound. The one complaint I do have is that it says it streams Netflix but only if you have a wired connection, otherwise you have to purchase an ethernet bridge (sometimes called a gaming bridge) to plug into the LAN port on the back so that you can connect to your wireless network. This additional piece of equipment costs around $80. To get around this, we connected our Wii to the system so we could stream Netflix wirelessly that way. Works great. Overall, for the price the quality is good and exactly what you'd expect from a low to mid-range priced system with a blu-ray player. If you can find it on sale, even better!
