Sungale ID800WT Cyberus 8-Inch WI-FI Touch Digital Photo Frame (Black) Review

I bought this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, since he wants pictures around the house, and I hate clutter. I was initially drawn to this for all of the "features."
1. I thought the touch screen would be cool, but you just end up with a bunch of fingerprints all over the screen.
2. I am pretty tech-saavy, but after purchasing an extra memory card and spending 3 wonderful hours with this thing, I couldn't get pictures to load and fit properly. On that note, you have to resize the pictures for the frame, or they won't load at all. No, thank you.
3. It looks really cheap.
4. The interface is not very user-friendly. It's like an old DOS program. If you know what that is, I'm sure you're running by now, and if you don't know what that is, well, you should be running.
5. This frame connected wirelessly once. After that, it said it couldn't connect to my router (when it could recognize it), and that perhaps I had too many other things trying to connect. I've never heard of that, and it's a total bunch of crap.
Needless to say, I returned this the next day. I trekked over to Best Buy and got an HP DreamScreen 100 10-Inch Wireless Connected Screen. I know the reviews seem bad on that, too, but I absolutely love mine. Easy setup (it took 5 minutes), no photo resizing, beautiful interface, and no wireless problems. It's got a bigger screen and is very sleek looking. Basically, every issue I had with this crappy Sungale frame was fixed by the Dreamscreen. I'd recommend getting one of those instead. I wouldn't wish this nightmare on my worst enemy.

Sungale AW15B-WF 5" Digital Frame Review

Sungale AW15B-WF 5 Digital Frame

This is a high-definition display, so your photos will look really great. But among others, four things I didn't like in this products: (i) you need to go though the menus to start a slideshow, meaning that it is not just to turn it on to have your images coming - forget it if you are planing to give it to your mother...; (ii) you cannot program it to switch on and off at desired times, a feature that you can find in other competing products (like Kodak, for example) and very useful; (iii) it does not display the images at random, but sequentially; (iv) Additionally, if you have a MacIntosh computer, the wi-fi will not work, since it only gets connected to PCs.
I wouldn't recommend it.

Kodak EX-811 Easyshare 8-inch Digital Picture Frame with Wireless Capability Review

Kodak EX-811 Easyshare 8-inch Digital Picture Frame with Wireless Capability

I bought this as a gift for the grandparents. Loaded about 800 pictures on an SD card and turned it on. The image is very nice. But I noticed that the first picture displayed was the first I added to the card.
Hmm. Turned it off, then back on. Same thing.
Then I looked at the manual (which is inside the box, obviously) where it says that pictures are displayed in the order added.
Very bad!
You'll never see the last 700 pictures unless you sit through the first 100, every time you turn it on.
I took this back and bought a Westinghouse DPF-0802 which has a random display and nice image. I wanted another one of those but everyone is sold out.
Just be careful if you get the Kodak and expect to see a different show each time you turn it on.

Digital Spectrum MemoryFRAME MF-8104 Premium 10.4-Inch Wireless Digital Frame Review

Digital Spectrum MemoryFRAME MF-8104 Premium 10.4-Inch Wireless Digital Frame
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this digital photo frame for my parents with the hope that they'd just hang it on their wall and then be see new photos each day that I'd uploaded to one of the free online photo sites (Flickr, Webshots, Windows Live Spaces) from wherever I was.
This frame definitely did not live up to my expectations and I ended up returning it. Here is why:
1. User Interface :: The user interface was difficult to use and often left me frustrated because it didn't act in ways that I expected it to. I wouldn't have thought that it'd be hard to design an interface that would work something like Windows Media Center where you can browse what media (pictures, videos, mp3s) you have on the frame's memory, online photo sites, or shared on the home computer, but apparently it is.
2. Wireless Connectivity :: It was difficult to setup with the wireless router and I often was left keying in the passcode for the router time after time. Extremely annoying when you have to do this via remote and a directional keypad. Once the wireless connection was established, I could only get the frame to connect to my photos on Webshots and not on Flickr or Windows Live Spaces. I don't know the reason for this, just know that was the problem that I had.
3. Video Playback :: It does play videos but only if they're resized to 320x240 despite the frame's resolution being much greater than this.
4. Photos on SD Card :: I expected to be able to take the SD card out of the back of my camera and put it into the card reader on the back of the frame and view the images on the card but here I ran into another problem. The frame would only recognize the photos on the card if they were not in any folder or subfolder on the SD card (most digital cameras place the image files into a folder or subfolder on the memory card and not straight onto the card's memory -- therefore making it impossible to just take the memory card straight from the camera and see the images on the frame).
5. Transitions :: All I really wanted was some kind of basic fade out/fade in or a crossfade would have been brilliant. Instead, the frame has cheesy wipes and slides that look terrible. The "no transition" choice was the only bearable on there -- and that says a lot.
6. Cost :: I really was hoping that the old adage "you get what you pay for" would apply here as the frame cost around 370 to my door, but in this case I found there to be no reason to pay that much for this frame unless they work out all of the problems and bugs that I listed above.
7. The Little Things :: Besides the more major problems that I listed above, there were a lot of lesser issues I had with the frame as well. For example, included in the box was a memory card reader that directly plugged into a USB port to accommodate different types of memory cards, but given the shape of this card reader, it couldn't even fit into the USB port on the back of the frame.
Overall :: I don't feel that I was expecting too much from this frame given the $350 price tag and promising product description. I think that it was a mistake to buy this product in it's first generation (the user manual was even just a few photocopied pieces of paper folded in half). The overall impression I got is that the company rushed to get this frame out (as it was supposed to be released months ago) and in doing so there were corners cut and problems that remain unresolved.

Toshiba DMF102XKU 10-Inch Wireless Digital Media Frame Review

Toshiba DMF102XKU 10-Inch Wireless Digital Media Frame
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This was my first wireless frame. It is probably my fault, but I was under the impression that you would be able to move/view pictures from a networked computer onto this frame. That is not the case. You can only stream from the web, such as Framechannel or Flickr or other RSS feeds. For this purpose it works really well. The connection to the wireless network was quick and painless and the quality of the pictures is pretty good. If you only want to stream, this frame is fine. If you want it to be part of your network, consider something else to include the Kodak wireless frames ( Kodak EasyShare W1020 10-Inch Wireless Digital Frame ) which can access the media server capability of Vista or Windows 7 machines natively or the Kodak software which enable drag and drop capability although not in the best software.
