Analog Modem with Bluetooth Class 1 Hang-packed Review

Analog Modem with Bluetooth Class 1 Hang-packed
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
While looking for a modem as a backup option for getting online when my wireless ISP goes down (not too often, but it happens, then I have to bring out my long phone cord, plug it in, disable my wireless adapter and bring up my dial up connection, and...), while searching I came upon this Bluetooth Wireless Modem, I thought "What a great idea!" As I dug deeper for info via online searching I looked for like items from other makers, I looked for reviews, I spent a few days searching and reading. I got the feeling that this type of device is quickly becoming a rare find. I wondered why, I suspected poor performance/design/service.... I found no evidence of any of this, yet I was skeptical, and curious.
I thought I'd go ahead and buy this from Amazon knowing their rock solid return policy, besides it wasn't widely available on other sites. The day it arrived I set this little device up quickly, it was easy. I turned off my wireless ISP for my laptop and proceeded to dial up... WIRELESSLY... through this modem via Bluetooth... It connected quickly and I was able to log on with a 2nd computer as well, at the same time! Without a CAT cable! We were sharing a dial up connection... wirelessly! I'm sorry if I sound so surprised by this and maybe I shouldn't be, but what can I say, it's a great product. I had no idea that a wireless Bluetooth modem was available.
I am happy that I found this little modem and that it works so well. Only time will tell how long it will last, I don't need to use it much, so I won't know it's dependability long term. For now, I'm glad I took a chance on it.

Belkin F8T030 Bluetooth Access Point with USB Print Server Review

Belkin F8T030 Bluetooth Access Point with USB Print Server
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The tech support was prompt and knowledgeable. The unit has good range which seems to be limitied more by the class of the PDA that is trying to acess it.
HOWEVER this product has a VERY serious design deficiency that makes it UNSUITABLE FOR USE at any price!!!! Belkin tech support has confirmed that there is no way to reset the unit to the original factory settings if you can not acess it via the built in web manager. Belkin tech support also confirmed that there is also a flaw in the unit that will cause some user passwords to not be accepted. Once this happens, this will essentially require returning the unit for complete replacement. I know of no other networking product that has such a serious design flaw (all other networking devices I am aware of have at least a reset button somewhere or a "power on" sequence to handle these inevitable situations). It also makes the unit unusable for any scenario where if you make a change to the settings, you can not afford to be without it for the time to swap it out.
An obvious problem for you, me and Amazon here!

Belkin F8T031 Bluetooth Wireless USB Printer Adapter Review

Belkin F8T031 Bluetooth Wireless USB Printer Adapter

This dongle works great, using only my Palm with Bluefish RX software. No complaints except one, and hopefully this will help some buyers.
To initially set up your handheld device, when it asks for a passkey, which is a kind of password,
THE PASSKEY IS "belkin" (all lower case).
I would give this dongle five stars, except the passkey was no where in the manual or other literature that came with the product. I guessed it correctly after many tries and google searches. Now you can set it up without the hassle I had, and you can give it five stars, too.

HTC HD2 T8585 Unlocked Smartphone with 5 MP Camera, Windows Mobile 6.5, Wi-Fi, gps navigation - International Version with Warranty (Black) Review

HTC HD2 T8585 Unlocked Smartphone with 5 MP Camera, Windows Mobile 6.5, Wi-Fi, gps navigation - International Version with Warranty (Black)

I received mine in the end of December. A month is probably not enough to discover all bugs but so far I'm happy with the phone.
First of all, it is really fast. The 1GHz processor does it's job.
The screen resolution is high and the screen size is big enough to surf the web with comfort.
HTC shell is something new to me (I used to have E-ten with Spb Mobile shell) but getting used to it.
Cannot say that I'm impressed with the still picture quality (SE phones have better pictures with less Mpx) but video recording is relatively good. There is no button for shutter so you always have to click on the screen to take picture - not convenient.
I need to charge my phone every second day - that definitely exceeded my expectations, taking into consideration fast processor and big hi-res screen.
The screen uses almost full width of the body, which sometimes causes unexpected clicks when I grab the phone (slowly getting used to it). When browsing e-mails the shell has button "reply to all" on the left side and when you click it, it changes to "send". One time I grabbed the phone and it replied to all and sent an empty message to a huge distribution list. So keep it in mind and be careful ;) I hope there will be a way to protect it somehow.
The phone is bigger than I expected - it's exactly the size of 12oz beer can (you can hide one behind the phone).
The sound level and quality in conversations is excellent. Also, my Highlander hands-free connects very quickly with good sound level.
So far I did not have chance to use built-in GPS. I don't expect anything special comparing to other similar phones.
It does not have a stylus. If you turn the phone, full size keyboard is big enough but.. I think I will get a stylus. At least you need one, when you surf Internet.
Overall - some little flaws, which I found so far, will not be enough to downgrade my 5 star rating. I really enjoy the phone and recommend it to others who is ready to spend [...] bucks on a gadget.

HTC HD2 delivers an experience your senses have been waiting for. The unprecedented 4.3-inch pixel-packed display is stunning. The world's first capacitive touch technology on a Windows phone along with 1 GHz processing power ensure a smooth and lightning-fast response to the lightest touch of your finger. Most importantly, it is our first Windows phone to embody HTC Sense - a holistic experience that focuses on making phones work in the most intuitive way. HTC Sense is based on three core principles make it mine, stay close, and discover the unexpected. With HTC HD2, communication is focused around people rather than applications, so all of your interactions like email, SMS, phone logs, and even updates from Facebook are all in one place. Right where your instinct tells you to look next to the photo of the person with whom you want to stay in touch with. In business, a phone call often has the power to prevent a mile-long pile up of inconclusive emails. HTC HD2 makes it simple to go from reading an email to calling the sender. All it takes is a single tap on the large phone icon right from the email. And if you need to get everyone involved in the discussion just tap next to the images of everyone to create an instant conference call. Forget the challenge of jumping from your calendar to your phone application while trying to find and memorize the number for your next conference call. On HTC HD2, conference call reminders conveniently appear with a big dial button ready for you to press, even the PIN is displayed, so you'll never miss out on the latest strategy session.

Cisco-Linksys USBBT100 Bluetooth USB Adapter Review

Cisco-Linksys USBBT100 Bluetooth USB Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you own a bluetooth enabled phone, this is a MUST-HAVE accessory! I've owned this for two weeks and here's my experience w/it so far.
Installation was a snap! I am using Windows XP SP1. I downloaded the latest drivers from Linksys website and during the install process, it prompted me to plug in the dongle, then it finished and was up and working! That easy! I've read about others having driver problems w/other lesser name brands (Belkin, etc) but Linksys truly does live up to its name. I've also installed drivers on my laptop so I now have a Bluetooth enabled laptop also! It's easy switching the dongle from desktop to laptop because of the USB connector. Pairing w/my Sony Ericsson T610, I now have wireless internet access on my laptop anywhere I can get a signal on my cell phone!
Syncing w/Outlook is much faster than through IRDA and sending pictures/ringtones/games to and from the phone is a lot more convenient too because it doesn't require line of sight the way IRDA does.
The specs claim 100m but you've gotta remember that's unobstructed. I live in a 2800sq ft home w/two floors and this unit still picked up a weak to fair signal from one end of my house to the other. I would get strong signals from about 3/4's of the distance or closer.
You can probably save $10-15 going w/a generic or lesser name brand but full driver support from generics may be a hit-and-miss game. To me, paying a bit extra for fully compliant driver support and no installation headaches is certainly worth it! Plus, it looks cool and has that antenna for better range.

Xlink-cell Bluetooth Gateway Review

Xlink-cell Bluetooth Gateway
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a very cool device! We did away with our home phone system last year because we so seldom used it, and started using cell phones exclusively. The problem with this is that signal strength on the first floor of our house is weak, and of course that you need to have your cell phone with you or go chasing after it when it rings. Enter the XLink. I installed it upstairs where line-of-sight to the closest cell tower is much improved adding a couple of bars on the signal strength meter. It links to my phone, my wife's and/or my daughter's quickly and reliably at the touch of a button (and unlinks just as easily when leaving the house and taking the cell phone along). I disconnected the line coming in from the street and connected the XLink to my phone distribution system. We now have six phones throughout the house, all connnected to whatever cell phone(s) we link.
It's a little slower responding when dialing calls, but just a few seconds. The only issue I have with it, although it might actually be the cell phone's bluetooth implementation, is that if a call comes in that I miss (or if a voicemail or message arrives), the phone won't allow dialing out until the cell phone's display is cleared or acknowledged. So if you step outside and miss a call, and then try to make a call later, it won't work. I soon figured out that when this happens, I just need to pick up my cell phone and clear the screen. Once done, all is back to normal. A little annoying, but it's also a way of knowing you have a message or missed a call, which isn't a bad thing. One option that solves the missed call issue is to use a normal answering machine anywhere on the line that picks up before the cell phone voicemail kicks in (contrary to an earlier review, this works great).
It worked great right out of the box, no issues, no software uploads necessary. It connects to my cell phone from 25 or 30 feet away, even through the floor. Of course, I set my phone right next to it when I come home, press the connect button and three seconds later I'm connected, so there's no issue with range anyway. The sound quality is every bit as good as the cell phone -- maybe even a little better with the bigger speaker/earpiece in our GE wireless home phones, and I've noticed no delay or latency when having a conversation. I tested a few spots upstairs and found the place where cell calls are most reliable and cleanest sounding, and that's where I located the XLink. It's about as close to a land line as you can get.
This little box is exactly what I was looking for, is completely reliable, gives me any quantity of phones thoughout the house that I care to connect, and saves $35 a month on a land line. I work with electronics every day having been an engineer for more years than I'd care to admit, and I've been very happy with this little device for the six months I've owned it. Highly recommended!

I purchased this mouse about 3 months ago and use it at work every day for at least 8 hours a day (still on my first batteries). It works every time with absolutely no problems. I've used it on 2 Dell laptops and 1 HP laptop. It does stop communicating with the computer after it goes idle after a few minutes but just click it once and it wakes up and is ready for use again. I'm getting ready to buy another one for my wife.
